”It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” the comeback drama of Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, premiered at No. 1 in the ratings.

The first two episodes of the tvN drama aired on June 20 and 21 and according to Nielsen Korea, both took first place nationwide and in the metropolitan area.

Episode 1 on June 20 got 6.09 percent rating nationwide and 7.03 percent in the metropolitan area which covers Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi province. Episode 2 on June 21 placed first with 4.72 percent nationwide and 5.47 percent in the metropolitan area.

In ”It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” Kim Soo-hyun plays the role of Moon Kang-tae, a health worker at a psychiatric ward, while actress Seo Ye-ji’s character is Goo Moon-young, author of children’s books.

“I thought it was fun and something new. Dramas of this style can get tacky really easily but fortunately it didn’t cross into that. The acting is good and the plot up till now is good and I’m curious about the hidden stories,” commented one Korean viewer on the first episode, according to Netizen Buzz.

Another said, “It’s pretty obvious that the scriptwriter is trying to break cliches. The male lead is kind and reserved but poor. The female lead is a chaebol but a charming bad girl. I thought it was cringe how hard the female lead tried to act so sexy.”

“Oh Jung Se’s acting is so good. The drama itself doesn’t have a plot that pulls you in but I think it’s worth a watch because the cast has great acting and the directing is good too,” one viewer wrote, referring to actor Oh Jung-se role as 37-year-old Moon Sang-tae, older brother of Kang-tae who has autism spectrum disorder.

This is Kim Soo-hyun’s comeback project after completing his military service, which lasted from October 2017 to July 2019. His last drama before military enlistment was “The Producers” in 2015.
