Syracuse Police warn of scam asking for credit cards

The Syracuse Police Department posted a Facebook post, warning people of a scam going around Central New York. Syracuse Police said they’ve received calls from residents of scammers trying to pretend to be representatives from the police department trying to gather credit card information. The department said it is, “NOT calling anyone for their credit card information. ” “If you get a call like this, you should hang up and block the number,” according to SPD Facebook post.
