The Blues signed the Morocco international for an estimated £33 million (R700million) from the three-time UEFA Champions League winners.

However, for all his talent and ability, Ajax manager Ten Hag has now claimed that the creative midfielder can be volatile, but added that his stubborn attitude helps make him a great player.

“Sometimes he (Ziyech) is a trainer’s nightmare, but you have to give him space,” the Dutch tactician said, as per talkSPORT.

“Hakim is ‘what you see is what you get. You see what his emotions are doing to him today.’

“He comes in as a big man at Chelsea, a top club in Europe. That is the example for the younger players here. First become the best here, win titles and then take the step.

“He is a character, headstrong. But that also makes him brilliant. He sees things that others don’t see.”

Ziyech, who mesmerised opponents in Holland and Europe this season, scored eight goals and registered 21 assists across all competitions for Ajax before leaving the club over the weekend to settle in at his new home in England.
